On the Rise Data Visualization

Overview

On the Rise is a short, editorial spread set that is made to educate a group of interested citizens about how we monitor our ecosystems and how the data tells us something about the state of our environment. I specifically chose the topic of streamflow as a climate change indicator, creating a narrative over three spreads displaying the the context, evidence, and impact of the average rise in volume of streamflows in America. I created all visuals in Illustrator after settling on a visual system and color palette, choosing to go a more abstract and flexible route that made it easier to create a large variety of interesting charts and graphs.
